As an artist, I often find I draw on life experiences for artistic inspiration. A recent stint in hospital with a possible Lung Cancer diagnosis became the impetus for this latest collection of works.
The series is a raw and emotive study based on memories and emotions, documenting a cancer journey. Its magical scenes portray sentiment through a combination of dream-like fantasy, form and textural surface adornment.
Light passing through these pieces becomes a metaphor for the healing process that I continue to experience in both body and soul since I became one with the treatment
Melody and the metronomic rhythm of the swing in this piece emphasise the patterns created over time by doctor appointments and treatment regimes.
